Tragedy Strikes as Unintentional Detonation at Law Enforcement Facility in Indian-administered Kashmir Claims Nine Lives
A catastrophic detonation at a law enforcement facility in the Kashmir region under Indian control has led to the fatalities of nine individuals and harm to thirty-two more, according to authority reports.
The incident took place when a stockpile of seized explosive materials accidentally blew up during processing activities.

The blast happened on Friday night at the Nowgam security post, where blast substances confiscated in Faridabad in the northern province of Haryana state were being stored temporarily.
Area law enforcement head stated that the blast materials were awaiting technical investigation when a "very unfortunate" mishap during processing caused their detonation at approximately 23:20 local time.
Authority Statements
Security forces confirmed that this was an "unintentional explosion" and not a militant action. "Alternative theories regarding the cause of this incident is unnecessary," highlighted the security director during a media conference.
The security post endured severe damage from the explosion, with adjacent buildings also being impacted by the powerful blast.
Aftermath and Fatalities
Numerous cars were "consumed by fire and turned into burned shells, with wreckage spread across the area," according to official reports.
"The intensity of the blast was such that some physical fragments were found in adjacent homes, approximately between 100 and 200 meters from the security post," mentioned an authority informant.
Most of the fatalities were police officers, along with scientific examination staff, two evidence documentation specialists, and a clothing professional who was present with the personnel.
Administration Action
The region's Administrative Head expressed commiserations and confirmed that an inquiry had been commissioned into the tragic incident.
"I have ordered a inquiry to determine the cause of the accidental explosion. Profoundly distressed by the death of valuable individuals due to extremely tragic accidental blast at Nowgam law enforcement facility in the Srinagar area. My commiserations to the bereaved families. I wish for speedy recovery of the injured," expressed the leader on social media.
